I had an 02 f250 and used ascetone to remove all the paint off my badges creating it all chrome. I just purchased a '15 and don't want to screw anything up. Has anyone tried removing the paint off the f250 emblem
Don't quote me because I never studied the badges too closely, but the "black" appears to be different than what was on previous year trucks. It seems to be more "sticker" like now where it was a paint before.
I had body work done on my 2011 that required new side emblems. I know the "6.7" emblem is plastic, not metal. I do not know what the "F250/F350" emblem is made of. If it were me, I'd order two from tousley and do your intended changes, and then just swap them out. Otherwise you are fully committed to doing something if it doesn't work out.
You can pop the f250 badge off the truck from inside the fender, the badge its self is made from different inserts/pieces and the black part of the badge looks solid, I don't think it would turn to chrome like the old style, one piece badges.
