Well... my 86' F-250 6.9 ,i've had since 89', just bit the dust. My wife was hauling horses when it appears the ATS turbo failed and dumped all the
oil. The impeller is siezed and she smokes reeeeeeal bad-blown rings i suspect. Due to the age and condition"farm truck" I will most likely part it out.
I know he body is not even cold yet but i'm looking for a replacement.
Are there any paticulary good or bad years of power strokes to look at?
I have found a 94' turbo 4x4 with all the right stuff for 7000. Good deal?
The 94 7.3IDI turbo is a rare motor, could be hard to find parts. The later the better as far as auto trannies go (more updates).
97 was the first year with the updated CPS, and best CPU codes.
No matter what year 94-97 get rid of the stock air box, they all will let dust/grit past the filter. Put a open element type filter on it.
