A/C question
I have an 04 EX that needs the a/c charged. Can anyone tell me what oil type is used? The sticker with the information under the hood of mine is gone.

Unless you replaced any parts in the ac system it doesn't need any oil. If you did replace any parts it uses regular oil used in AC systems (PAG?)
If you are referring to the type of refrigerant, it is 134a

If refrigerant leaks, oil usually also goes with it. Unfortunately, you cannot know how much of the PAG oil has leaked.
Ford designation is YN-12b, commonly sold as ISO 46 PAG oil in your parts store.

Thanks for the info. I bought the ex and there have been repairs/upgrades to the motor. The a/c system is empty and I wanted to make sure I had everything on hand to recharge it. Thanks again.

Might want to pull a vacuum first and see if it holds. Still not a guarantee for no leaks. It will also remove any moisture from the system.
