Hello truckers.Iv purchased Sought after vortech supercharger for my 96 f350 crewcab 4x4 longbed ,e40d 460.And was curious on how much of a torque and hp increase I should expect from a stock engine ,the only thing I will be upgrading is the exhaust with banks torque tubes
You will see mild gains, but without head work, you will probably max out at 300hp. The banks torque tubes, nor any other headers for that matter, will not help much with stock heads. The small(relatively) exhaust valves and the cylinder head ports can be restrictive.
I have an extra set of stock heads that I was planning on opening up . Just curious if you know how I should go about replacing valves ,what size? And what kind of portwork? And what about the intake?
I let my builder go through my heads and he kept the valves the same size, but did a full rebuild on them. If the spare set you have are F3TE heads, the valve size is sufficient for a pretty big power increase. What horsepower range do you want? Your goal is important to determine the necessity for bigger valves. These heads are pretty restrictive especially the exhaust ports. I just had my builder smooth out the sharp turns/corners in the ports, and that was enough for me. The factory EFI intake is dual plane, and flows very well. What hp/tq numbers do you want to have?
I have all of the fiveology parts installed, but have not fired it up yet. For the f-series conversion kit, you need to follow the included instructions exactly. Brian at fiveology is excellent at helping out his customers.
What horsepower numbers are you hoping for with your setup? And did you have any issues with emissions delet? Did you keep the egr? Any check engine lights? Thanks for your reply Brent

Hoping for around 350, but expecting 320-340 at the wheels. No issues with emissions delete, with the exception being a CEL for a EGR not opening, or not in range, or whatever. I tried the RJM injection EGR delete diode thingy, and I still got the light, but it ran fine either way. I did not keep the EGR, nor the cat, nor the air pump, nor the injection tubes, nor the TAB/TAD solenoids, nor the... you get the idea. With my tuning software I am hoping to take care of the functions that trigger the codes I get.
