Convert a F250 to a F150 for what reason if you do not mind me asking? Is your F250 2wd or 4wd? What is the purpose of the vehicle?
And this statement "since there's much more to offer in a f100-f150 then the 250". Just what are you looking for your F250 that evidently only an F150 has to offer? I want to hear this.
Well maybe he is a one hit FTE wonder and still wondering what he needs. lol JK Maybe it is a Canadian thing... Eh?
I want to to know what he wants for his truck that is available for a F150 only, if it is worth all that work to get them 1/2 hubs on there....it must be shiny, fast and cheap? Eh? lol
sorry , ill explain more , yes i have a 1979 f250 2wd 4speed its in great shape , lowering parts and rims are pretty hard to find here , but the f100 f150 are plentiful , also theres no actual kits for a f250 seems that the twin i beam drop beams are the same anyway but spindles are different ? anyway its for rat rod so to speak , just a weekend cruiser ect in the end i know i should have bought a f150 but this was the deal i could not pass up . sold in ontario and never winter driven body is nice , anyway my question is can i just swap spindles or what would be involved , also need to find out where i can get a new lh upper spring mount . id like some opinions on this project lol ty and yah i jump around alot on my question sorry
in the end parts seem to be more plentiful for a f100/f150 so means cheaper , also a f250 rides like a haywagon compared to a f150 . and the noise a 250 makes is crazy loud. least all the ones ive ever been in , this is a just starting restoration project so just feeling options i guess
oh and for the one hit wonder naw i tap that *** all week lol
Get the drop beams from AIM Industries. They are the only ones that I know if who carry drop beams for F250s.
Lowering the rear end... spring hanger flip or axle flip & C-notch. The latter is simple in principle.. no, there is no kit that I know if for F250s but you can fabricate, right? Scaled and dimensioned drawings of axle saddles are in my '70's build thread.
................And why does everything have to be in "kit" form??? Whatever happened to good ol' creativity and home-engineering?
Moving on....
Ride quality... these rigs were built to work and F250s even moreso. Soften up the leaf packs (Visit eatondetroitspring.com), decent shocks, compliant rubber bushings (including cab bushings), and tall sidewall rubber.. at least 70 series with street tread pattern.
Noise... these rigs nary have a toothpaste tube's worth of seam sealer and insulation more than a paper towel.... Max out the attenuation with Dynamat, Boom Mat, Hush Mat, or an equivalent product. I just did my 70 and can actually hear myself think now. You need only 75 percent coverage or go ***** out and apply it to the entire cab.
stupid question but f250 to a 150 power to wheels . one would think it would take more torque / hp to move a f250 is this true or is there a difference in say a f150 to a f250 I believe f1 and f2 are almost the same other then leafs shackles and spindles correct ??
ive only own a 78 f100 / f150s so this 250 is totally new to me . is a f250 work dropping or should i just leave it and drive it . i had thought about 4 wheel disc brakes , that was the idea of 5 bolt axle swaps , i know some will argue it dont help much i guess im at loss to what direction i should move towards , ireally want "fast and low" kinda look.
