2003 F-150 VIBRATION @ 45 OR SO. DEALER SAID TIRE , BUT DID NOT HELP. NEXT DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. SAID" DON'T BRING IT BACK" HAS ANY ONE HAD ANY PROBLEM, IS IT ME? THANKS APPLE6
I would report the dealer that told you not to bring it back, the truck is under warranty, call FoMoCo and tell them. Thats BS that they refused to help you. All they have to do is balance the driveshaft it costs $50.
My 2001 Superduty did the same thing. The dealer shot grease into all the U-joints, and it rides like new again. It also matters alot if you have 2 piece drive shaft.
I also have a vibration between 56-61 mph on my 2000 F-150. Runs and sounds great at any other speeds. I left it at the local Ford dealer for the past 2 days. Now after $291 they have replaced the rear exhaust dampner. This has not fixed the problem. How do you do a drive shaft balance?
If you live in a bigger city, there are shops around that will balance your driveshaft. Look ihn the phonebook for some machine and welding shops and call and ask them if they will balance a driveshaft.
There is a way to do it yourself, if you have the space / tools, pick up a Haynes or Chiltons manual and it should be in there. I can't repesat the procedure here because if I leave out a step you could get seriously hurt, plus its copyright infringement.
