I know a lot of people who have this exact fuel setup but many have different turbo setups and all are breaking 700whp and are also daily drivable. Also I only spent $1800 for the injectors, fuel pump, intake, exhaust, and the rest of the supporting mods so it's not that expensive either. The shop I work at takes the stock injectors and mods them to 205/100 and I did all the work myself so all I had to do was pay for parts.
Just curious, but are those people bench racing and adding up potential hp numbers and using modified stock injectors, or have they verified the actual whp?
I wish I knew how to tell you what is needed for 700 whp, but something about it seems that modified stock sticks and a basic fuel system isn't going to cut it. Is the bottom end and the block even strong enough to hold together reliably?
Been proven a tranny will eat 25-30% of your power so you better plan on making nearly 1000hp to put to the flywheel. The bottom of these motors are said to be forged, but getting that to the wheels is another ballgame. Why many guys doing these kinds of mods have sponsors, ain't cheap!
You'll probably need two pumps for injector control, regulated fuel return and some serious custom tunes.
Adding Nitrous may be the easiest way to high HP, but the drive train is going to $$$$ you.
I was going to play thee HP game and after all the research I decided to go for fuel efficiency, believe it or not you get great horse power numbers with that plan(550HP,700 FPT) and 20% more fuel economy(depending on how you drive) and that's with spending a lot of greenbacks on just the motor. Transmission mods are in that mix too. The converter alone is 1500 big ones. The best mod you could do to these trucks is put a 6.7 fuel pump in and mod the tank, then put a regulated return in and play games from there. You will have a great base to play with turbo and injectors.........but that's just a old mans 0.02
