Gooseneck ball???

Guys my brother just bought a 2013 f350 with a factory fomoco gooseneck ball in the bed. Does the ball come out to haul things in the bed? I've looked all over and can't find any release. Help me out please....

BobV60 is right. There is a black release in the notch on top of the ball. You just pull it up, turn it 90 degrees and the ball will lift right out.
