Final answer? Lol I'm praying that's all it is. I'll get 5 gal fresh tomorrow and throw it in but like I said the tanks almost full. If it starts and runs I'm going for a nice long drive, and top it off again
I gave up, unhooked the negative for an hour plus, still doing the same thing. Thought I could use my power extractor I use to change the oil in the wife's car but it didn't work to suck gas out. Wouldn't go down far enough. I'll call AAA tomorrow and have them haul the dang thing to my mechanic and let him figure it out. Got too much going on today to keep messin with it. She who must be obeyed gave me a list of things to do while she's at work. Hopefully something not too expensive, just when we start to get ahead some crap like this happens. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll post the fix when she's done
At least it was a F550 Should know something today. The young man in the tow truck thought because of the dead battery it messed with the idle air control settings and maybe it needs to be reset with a diagnostic machine. Hope that's all it is, something simple
I just can't see fuel going bad in that short amount of time...I have left fuel in my boat for months without starting it and had no issues. I have seen a video of someone with the 5.4 in their F150 and they replaced the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor. It apparently sticks due to carbon build-up, don't know if your year truck still has one or not but it's worth a look!
