I can see how having the rod too far out would hurt,, it could keep the rear seals from seating and always allowing air to bleed into the chamber. I'll check it and see if that solves the problem. thanks for the link ultra.

A booster rod adjusted too far out will preload the MC pistons. This will keep a small amount of pressure on the brakes, even when you aren't pressing down on the brake pedal. It can also make it very difficult to completely bleed the brake system out if the MC pistons can't fully retract.
A booster rod that is adjusted too short will cause the brake pedal to have a long travel before you get any significant pressure acting on the brakes.
