rewiring starter and ignition.
Trying to rewire my starter and ignition to switches on my 1990 7.3l IDI since the ignition broke and i had to strip out the wiring harness after finding multiple shorts in it. trying to find out exactly what i need to rewire to get my fuel pumps, acc power and starter to work like the original ignition did. tried to experiment with it at first but im pretty sure i did more damage than good. any help is greatly appreciated.

<p>welcome to FTE. what part of the wiring harness did you "strip out" ?</p><p>the easiest way to do it would be to replace the damaged harness.</p><p>or you could mount a toggle switch to run the accessories and a push button for the starter</p>

I took out everything that didn't go directly to the glowplug harness or the starter solenoid, the plan is to rewire all the turn signals and lights to separate switches. the problem I'm running into is isolating the individual wires that i need. considering that a new harness, if i could find one, would be about $700, I'm trying to just run toggle switches instead.
