Auto Window Switch Question

Well, physically, I'm not sure if they fit differently. But since the switch actually has 4 positions, I think the switch itself, IS the piece that would make the toggle-hold (auto) happen.
I wonder how exactly the switch gets the feedback, to stop, when the window is done closing..? Or maybe it's a set time delay on the switch. It does feel like the auto keeps the switch pressed for a whole second after the window is fully closed.
