T19 Shift Fork Problem/Question
Took it for a test drive, and less than a mile out started hearing a noise in the trans like a marble was bouncing around in there.
Eventually and still less than a mile, truck would not move forward in first gear, and then it started moving in reverse in first gear. Could not get it out of gear either, so had to drop the driveshaft and pull it home.
I pulled off the top of my T19 trans expecting to find something obvious, but everything looks fine. Gears aren't grinded up, and neither are shift forks (plastic tips on the bottom are still in tact).
Just wondering if anyone has any insights. I don't have the top all the way out as I don't have enough room to slide it out as it sits. Next step I guess would be to drop the trans. Again, any insights would be greatly appreciated.
I am assuming you have a 4x4 with a 460. Here's some hits in PA, $250 sounds pretty reasonable.
