84 f150 has no reverse!
we are having a automatic transmission problem. its a straight 6 engine but dont know the kind of trans. When we got it used it has always shifted rough. it always has. also if you shift 1,2 then drive you have to wait a sec before it goes into gear without hitting gas or it slams into gear. we dont mind but our bigproblem is it wont go into reverse. the lights come on in the back but nothing, sounds like gear doesnt move at all. i checked linkage and seems fine. i checked a vaccumm line and it is working that connects to back of trans near driveshaft. the rest are coolant lines and trans fluid lines. what do you think it is? thanks

my friend who works on fords told me about a valve box that is on the passenger side and this is what changes the gears. if this gets clogged then it will shift rough and not shift into gear? is this true? where is this really, i cant find it?
