Question a/c compressor replacement?

Good morning,, I just returned from a +- 2000 mile trip and the truck ran flawlessly for the whole thing except the last morning. No a/c. Got home took a nap then looked over the system for leaks etc. found no leaks but put the gauges on any way. engine not running. Good pressure. I had not gone under the truck yet at this point. Well I go under there to find the a/c belt burnt in two. Grabbed the clutch hub and sure enough no turny. Ok, easy enough change out the compressor and do all the other stuff, orifice tube flush out, dryer, you know. Got that part. Question is, how to get the compressor out and in. Looks like I need to take all the front off from Brush Guard to fan clutch and maybe fender well as well. Tips, tricks, all etc. appreciated. Note. Truck is an 08 550 4X4.

I don't know what the clutch assy looks like on these trucks because I've never messed with one but I think I'd see if the A/C clutch is the issue before replacing the whole pump.

Same clutch as most. Pulley turns free until energized. When I said hub I was referring to the center section that is pulled in by the coil when energized.

leave the brush guard on.pull your air filter box out and you can go from the top and get to the 2 nuts to take your lines off compressor. then you have 3 bolts on compressor you can get to from under truck, front 2 are easy there is one towards the back that you actually have to leave in compressor till you take it out,the compressor will come out through the bottom just take the ground wire and steering stabilizer off to give you more room.when u install it put the back bolt into compressor before you slide it in.to get the belt back on i took the plastic cover off top of radiator that goes over fan, then you get a 3/8 ratchet and take serpentine belt off tensioner then u can get to the ac tensioner and get that belt on,belt was i PITA due to my new compressor had a 5.25 clutch instead of stock 4.75 size.so check your size or youll do like me and break tensioner.its not to bad of a job

Thank you Sir!
I completely overlooked going in from the top. Lota stuff under this hood. Could not see the forest for the trees so to speak. Be another week or so before I can get to it. Had a 3130 John Deere in the shop for a clutch. That's done now. Next PTO on a 756 IH, then I can do my own work. Only gonna be a hundred for today and a cold front coming so no real hurry. Again thanks.
