Hi i have a v10 sd with a 4" procomp lift with 35"s on it.
I did some measuring and i measure from the front axel
tube to the frame and got 12 inches and from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender 30" . I want to add a 3" body kit this coming week and wondering what size tires i will be able to fit. I am hoping for some 38" pjs to fit but not sure. Also on the body kit do they replace the old bushings ? because they are about 1" and than would i really only gain 2 more inches than? or do they just stack them? I think i can get the body kit done for about 400$ installed. I would rather do a hanger kit but it would cost so much more for almost the same amount of add. Maybe i can only get away with 37's?
I checked the clearance between my spring and tire right now i have about 2-3 inches when i am fully tured. So with a 37 shouldnt i only have about 1 " clearance than?
I don't think you can run 37's with a 4". If you think they'll fit then go ahead. It's your truck. I have 38's with an 8" lift and they come within 1 inch with the suspension flexed and the tires turned. Some folks will put up with some rubbing. 1badf350 has 38's with a 6 but had to do some trimming.
The distance between the springs and tire will also be affected by the width of the tire you are looking at. i.e. a 37/12.5 PJ is wider than most other 12.5" tires.
FWIW, Here's a pic of 38/15.5R16.5 PJs on 16.5x12 Weld Stonecrushers under a 6" Edge lift with Bushwacker cut-out flares:
