Doing well. Hoping the last hour and 15 minutes of my friday go by quickly. I need to stop by my local leather shop and get some scrap leather for a project this weekend. And I will be ordering some concert tickets on friday.
Concert yes. The leather no. Have to use that to reharden a frizzen on my one musket. The carbon steel layer has worn out from over 10 years of use. I have to pull out the grinder or a file to smooth it out before I can wrap it in leather, drop it in an empty soup can and drop it in a nice pile of burning charcoal for an hour.
Frizzen it is what the flint strikes to make a spark on a flintlock. The flint essentially scrapes a bit of teh high carbon steel off of the face of the steel to make the sparks you see to ignite the blackpowder in the pan. It wears out with alot of use. Some wear out quicker then others.
There are a few places you can go to. Might want to try dixie gun works. They sell alot of stuff. Same with a place called track of the wolf. They will probably be able to help you. If it is a pedersoli made muzzleloader dixie gun works carries alot of stuff from them.
id have to take it somewhere local to find out what it is.. i dont know black powder guns.. barely know the ones i got.. would either take it to dicks or out to bass pro shop if i was going out there...
The one near me doesnt carry any atall. Bass pro is thre next closest and they have some stuff. Cabelas is the next on the list and they have the most.
ive never really looked too much but theyll sell some of the newer 50 slug calibers.. theyll carry the 10 pack copper jackets projectiles.. but never seen the powders or anythig else to go wiith them..
