I recently bought a 1997 F350 powerstroke. The hazard lights work but the blinkers do not. The bed was removed and the factory lights were replaced with a set of aftermarket LED lights. I have replaced the turn signal switch, checked the fuses both in the block under the dash and hood and replaced both of the flasher relays. I get nothing when I turn the right turn signal on and when I turn on the left all I get is the right taillight lights up like my foot is on the brake.
Does any body have any suggestion of what to look for as the problem?
The flashers might not work with LEDs stock replacement won't click unless the LEDs draw as much current as the original and if the left is wired to your right and it wouldn't click because it's not drawing enough power then your right isn't hooked up right that could be what's wrong
I just flushed the old blinker fluid out and refilled it with lucas synthetic blinker fluid.
On vehicles I've dealt with in the past with LEDs they just blinked faster. I didn't put them in so I didn't see if they put a resistor kit on. I will check to see if that is the issue. Does anyone know how much resistance they are suppose to have?
LEDs have built in resistance or an external resistor it's why they don't draw much current without one they'll burn up immediately they use electronic(?) flashers instead of the older heat up to click kind
I tried replacing the flashers with electronic ones designed for use with LED lights today, but had no success. Does anyone have any other ideas of what to check to try and fix this?
