I am learning the catalog little by little.........section 70 pg6 there is a illustration of the TC shifter...........there is a part number down by the shift lever bushing........ 44739-S (X-39) i assume this is a washer of some sort, where/how in the hell do find out in the catalog what it is ie: plastic copper flat or lock and the size. I cant find it in that section.........is there some where in the catalog that lists all these washer nuts and bolts for reference???????? Is there a diferance between 2wd and 4wd?
If you look at the illustration, you'll see the washer is for the bolt, basic part number 7A443. Go to the text part of the catalog and go to the 7A443 list (that's in section 71, page 11 in the text section) it will give you the description and part number for the bolt, D3TZ-7A443-A. The next line shows p/n 44739-S8 is a 9/16" flatwasher.
With standard hardware, at least what Ford considers standard hardware, you have to look at what assembly or other major part the hardware is part of and go to that section in the text section of the catalog. Usually at the end of the section for the part number of the major part you'll find the part numbers and descriptions of the standard hardware.
Scroll down to 7A443 / Be aware that standard aka hardware parts shown in pics may not have the complete suffix. Pic shows it as 44739-S, complete number is 44739-S8
The number in parenthesis is the Ford bin location number. Standard parts were placed in pull out drawers that could have 100 cubby holes, so a bin location was necessary.
If you are looking for the 7335 T/C shift lever bushings, the part number in the catalog is D3TZ-7335-A .. but, this number has been replaced byEOTZ-7335-C and are available from Ford.
Wow thanks Mike and Number that clears it up a lot one last question on this subject...........the washer for that part number , does in go under the head of the bolt or between the lever and the housing????? the pic looks like it is between the lever and the housing. And how do you find the "replaced by" numbers?
The washer goes between the bushing and the housing.
"replaced by" numbers are found in the Ford OSI manual. Ford Obsolete, Superseding and Interchange manual.
I need some of the bushings E0TZ-7335-C. Can you guys tell me if they have been discontinued or are they still available? I googled the number and a few sites listed it as discontinued. The interesting thing is that the replacement shifter for my 91 truck is an F6 number meaning that it has been upgraded to a 2006 number and the F6 shifter takes these bushings?? Am i correct? Thanks in advance
You have been incredibly helpful. Is there any way to check the stock levels in Canada? I am a canadian transplant and could try to source some there also. Thanks in advance
