2012 SD Rear suspension blocks

I just looked at and measured the blocks on my 2012 f250 4x4 they are 1 7/8 inch front add back so no taper and the truck is extended cab short bed.

So...reading the updated tsb, I noticed if two-piece or one-piece driveshaft, it mentions...replacement. Seriously??

Does anybody know why FORD says to replace the driveshaft?? Did the driveshaft change? Is it longer? Is it really necessary?? Just doesn't make sense to me...

I'm currently in the process of pricing the OEM parts...both locally and online. Right now...online is the better of the two.

Thanks,
biz

From what I'm seeing one piece drive shaft should be tapered blocks two piece should be a flat block but that leaves me scratching my head my truck is stock and they are flat?

You should be able to use a spacer to drop your carrier bearing to keep the angles correct. I can't see needing a new drive shaft for 4 inch blocks

I put 4" Pro-Comp blocks in my 2004 F250. I felt a slight shudder at take off afterwards. Was told to shim the carrier bearing.

If I recall correctly (dont have the truck any more to check) I added about 1/4 - 5/16" shim to drop the bearing down and straighten the angle.

Shudder went away.

Also cant recall if the Pro-Comp blocks were tapered or not.
