Gear Indicator Cover Removal
Hello! I have a broken gear indicator on my 79 f150 custom. This is the orange vertical plastic illuminated piece on the column. At any rate, i would like to repair or replace it, the only issue is, how do i remove the plastic cover on the column to access the broken portion? I am hoping i dont have to remove the steering wheel?! Thanks for the help!

You'll need to remove the steering wheel and the turn signal switch - it's pretty self-explanatory once you get those out of the way. Slips in from the front. There are new reproduction ones available. I bought one from JBG.

1978/79 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline: Two different types of indicators (pointers). With tilt wheel (D8TZ-7A110-B); or without tilt wheel (D8TZ-7A110-A).
The indicator slips into a groove of the shift collar.
