Hey when was a Home depot yesterday I found a deal that I'd like some input on.I need a new tool box and at home depot they had 8 drawer box with a 254 peice tool set for $350. Has anyone used husky tools so far? I have used some and they seem good and the guy told me if I break any of my craftsmen bring them to him and he'll swap them for new husky tools. Same goes for husky tools. I also need to be ablr to lock the box so my tools will say put when dad's in the garage. My tools are disappering peice by pice and I find one every once in a while somewhere odd. I ask him if I can use his stuff and then I put it back but now I'm fed up wih it so I want to be able to lock the box. I know that sucks but so does paying for a 3/8 inch rachect with 6 inch extensin when I know I'v already bought 2. Thanks
Husky tools have been discussed in several threads here which can be found with the search function. I use some Husky tools and they have given my good service so far.
i use a lot of husky tools and find their ratchets nice and comfy. havent had any breakages through normal use, no wear as of yet and the chest i bought is pretty darn good too. only thing that bothers me is i got a two peice chest and when i went to get a middle tier i couldnt becuase they no longer made the one that went with the set
Some years ago, I was hard up for money and needed an entire tool set. I went to a tool supplier (I suspect he sold tools that "fell off the back of the truck") and ended up with set of AIGO tools. I think they were japanese. Best darn tools I ever owned. I used huge cheater bars and never broke one, used the sockets on my rattle wrench. Absolutely astounding!
If your looking for a box check out Craftsmans ball-bearing chests with griplatch. Thats what I spent the big bucks on an love It! The drawers are incredibly smooth and the you can push the drawer shut with your knee and the griplatch keeps it shut. They cost about the same as the Husky set. I have tried both and would take my Craftsman chest any day.
i have a small husky set at work and love it, altho i dont use them that hard. i got a starter box for like 180 bucks, its small but i havent had any problem with it, it feels cheap and chincy but its holding up.
I have been complentating selling my Mac bottom with Craftsman top box. both the deep models. Why? I LOVE those Husky double wides with roller bearings. Bonus is probably only cost me 400 over the sales of my current ones so not even a no brainer.

I agree! I just bought a Craftsman Griplatch in May. I looked at every tool box brand I could find in this category and decided on the Griplatch. There are some that I think are better, like the Snap On products, and a couple of others, but they are very spendy. For a weekend warrior (like me) I think the Crafstman chests are the best buy. Regardless of brand you decide on, at the very least get ball bearing drawer slides. You won't regret it.
I have a bunch of them: 1/4 drive sockets, crows feet, *pro* series wrenches & line wrenches.
Never broken any of them so far & they're easy to clean after use. Edges of the wrenches are more rounded that Snap-Off so are more comfortable to use all day.
I believe that are made in the same plants that make Craftsman stuff.
