First we have to figure out what part # it is. And, that's not easy. Here are the pages from the parts catalog, and hopefully you can find it. Remember that "rear" is "aft axle". And look for the steel tank. Good luck.

Also, if you can't read these let me know and maybe I can make them bigger.

In this chart (^), it's E5TZ-9275-KA with 351W/460, but the OP says fuel sending unit with electric pump, so it's basic part number 9H307 .. not 9275.

If it's a 460: E5TZ-9H307-F

It's a 460. It's that big blue car carrier he shipped to Germany.

What's wrong with the original one? I have been able to fix a few of them on different vehicles.

Thank you verry mutch for your replays and Help,

now i find this one More Information for AIRTEX E2104S

it has the right connectors, is for the rear 19 Gallon Steeltank, i think they make a mistake in the Years, because this part is listet only for 1987.

Best regards

1987 is NOT the same as 1985/86!

See post 4.

Hey, make sure you check the size of the hole for the sending unit. There's a small unit for a small hole and a larger one which is like twice the size!

Dear Bill,

i know that there are some diffrence between the Years, but the Fuel tanks have 100% the same dimentions and looks also 100% the same on the Pictures.

The Sendingunitconectors (4 Pins) are the same that i found on my Wiring (i dont know if this is the right original Part) but this is what i have and where i must start from.

So from my point, if i have the same Tank and Conectors why should it not work?

Best regards

Torsten

Torsten - if I remember correctly, in 1987 Ford completely changed the gauge system. Previously a low resistance on the sender gave full scale on the gauge, but in the new system a low resistance gave empty on the gauge. Maybe that is what Bill is talking about.

You cannot always go by parts catalog ILLUSTRATIONS, as these are for parts guys to get the basic part numbers from. Sometimes these pics are generic, refer to more than one application.

Upper TEXT pic. Parts catalog sez: E5TZ-9H307-F = 1985/86 F250/350 460 with aft-axle steel tank.

Lower TEXT pic. TWO possible 1987 460 sender and pump with aft axle steel tank: E8TZ-9H307-D & E7TZ-9H307-E / Neither is the same as 1985/86.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either part number.

Are you sure this is what you need? The fuel tank selector valves for these trucks have been turds since day one, are notorious for failing!
