Occasional rough start

02 f350, auto, 197k, muffler delete, and air intake, no chip. Truck has always run fine up until about 2 months ago. Went on an eight hour drive to pick up a new dump trailer. Got home and went to start truck two hours later and it ran rough as all hell for about 2 min. No power and lots of blue smoke. Now it does this in the morning after sitting all night. Sometimes it is just a little rough with little smoke. Other times very rough with lots of smokes. Some times it starts then dies. It also does this occasionally in the afternoon when leaving work after it has sat in the 80 or 90 degree sun all day. Once the engine warms up the truck runs fine. I also noticed ladt week I have oil in my coolant. No coolant in the oil. And coolant leave is down also. I was considering injectors but am not sure this is my total problem. Also fuel filter is clean, checked tonight. Give fuel is nice and blue green just like from the pump. I have plugged the truck in once and that definitely helped the issue. I just don't want to throw money at it for no reason.

If it is actually oil in the coolant, that's often leaky o rings in the engine mounted oil cooler. Can be DIY job, search FTE there are some good threads on the subject.

If it's actually fuel, more like bad injector cups. Which is a lot more work.

Edit: On second thought, with all those drivability issues it sounds more like leaky injector o rings. Also DIY-able.

I have done the oil cooler before, no big deal. Today I had another problem, totally unrelated and already fixed, but I did notice that the truck had more blow by than it has had previously. I was also thinking last night that I haven't had the start issue for a few days, but I filled the truck Sunday night. I will wait until empty to see if fuel level plays a factor in the starting hiccups.
