62 Econoline Pickup Headlights

I am starting on the front end of my truck to restore it. When I took the headlight potmetal chrome pieces off. (I dont know what to call them, sorry), there is another place for another headlight next to the ones I have.

Did they ever use these for headlights? I was thinking I can just punch out the space that is editable, and add headlights.

Has anyone done this before? I can't seem to find a picture of any pickups where someone has done this.

Just asking to see if this is possible.

Thanks so much

Steve

Most Econolines had an air vent there rather than the blank plate that you have. Ford never installed a second set of lights next to the headlights.

Be sure to use a relay to power your headlights. The light switch was never designed to pass a lot of electricity.
