Proud of my 65 Ranchero
I own a 65 Mustang convertible (burgundy) and a 66 Mustang fastback(Black & Gold). Both very pretty plus a 65 white Ranchero that looks a little worn. I get more positive comments about the Ranchero than the other 2 combined.
Last week, my son & I charged up the rear air shocks and drove it 150 miles each way to pick up a 93 Cobra motor and 5 speed for his Mustang project. California temperature peaked at 100 degrees and the Ranchero ran like a new truck both ways. I did get a comment from my son about getting the AC fixed, but I just ignored him.
Love my little girl.

i never could figure out the fascination with the masses about the mustang. there were millions more mustangs than falcons made, but the mustangs still bring crazy money. a six cylinder mustang needing work will sell for $15,000 , but we were lucky to get $6,000 for a V8 Falcon futura 2 dr hardtop in factory new condition.
fortunately for us falcon owners, the resale value of the falcon has finally started going up to a halfway decent price.

Few know the Mustang came to be on the back of the Falcon. The 63.5 Falcon Hardtop was way cooler than any Mustang I've driven and by 64/5 the Mustang took over and Falcon went to become a grocery getter by '66. That said when I drive my 63 Ranchero and 65 Tudor wagon, each get "delayed" double-takes, but I just helped my friend build a '69 Sportsroof Mustang and that car does cause people to stop and look. It's funny. When I tell people I'm the president of the WA state chapter of the Falcon Club of America they either say "My parents had a Falcon" (or some such thing) or "What's a Falcon?"
Anyway, didn't mean to take away from your thread. Sorry. I'm very familiar with these (obviously) and my best buddy in the club has pretty pearl white 65 Ranchero he and I have been working on (his son has the '69 Mustang) and I sort of feel like I have a '65 Ranchero with a canopy on it with my wagon. Glad to hear good stories from others!
