That is a long trip in a short time...........

 

Been up all night except for about 2.5 hours of sleep. Leaving out around noon if possible,going to KY to spend the night. Be careful guys. The time is finally here!

you can only do what you can do.. that work thing says I gotta be here all day, and have one family thing to do.. still gotta pack the beast..get the fridge going. new neighborhood is tight streets and a dead end for me.. decided not to even risk not being able to turn in the cul-de-sac. so I gotta work with where it is..

sunday should be a quiet travel day, and Monday I'll be in middle of illinois so, quiet hiway til the end.. plan for 10 hours travel. no night-time.

 

With my nightmare journey, I had a 17 hour drive to get to Goshen the first day. I'd rather not repeat that anytime in the near future.... LOL.

It's about the same distance from your place to Myrtle Beach, isn't it? Have you changed your mind about driving straight through yet? That would be a long journey for the family in one sitting.

 

Well, it would have only been 12 hours like last year if it wasn't for the roadside fun and life flight helo holding up my journey. But, yeah, we are going to do a big day the first day and crash in a Walmart of Cabelas if necessary. Then do an easy morning to finish up the following day.

 

Good to hear. Originally you said you were going to leave early Sat. morning and drive straight through, so are you leaving on Friday now? We're leaving on Wed. and spending a couple days in NC at Carowinds. We'll get up Sat. morning and finish the 3 hr. journey to Ocean Lakes. I'd like to pull in there around noon, before it gets too busy. Last year at Pirate Land, we pulled in later in the afternoon and it was a bear maneuvering that monster around the campground with everyone parked on corners and partially on the road.
