hesitation/miss durring acceleration

i have a 04 excursion 6.0 stopped at a light and stepped on the accelerator and nothing happened, stepped down around 10 times and the engine finally revved up, i'm trying to figure out what the problem is.

hello guys
I bought a 2008 STX 4.6L , few weeks ago and mostly i was driving around the city but yesterday i took it to highway. i noticed , my truck having hard time to go beyond 80KM/h sometime and specially when there is up hill even slower .
I put accelerator hard and i see RPM was over 3000 even its was taking long to pick up a speed. and there is no other extra weight in truck.
any ideas what is going on.
Plz some suggestions .

also, you will need some thing to read live data with.
a lot of people recomend the scangauge II for starters.

Just wanted to give an update on my truck. I did a oil change over the weekend and added archoil to my oil. Went for a drive after the change and the truck ran good. It was doing it before the change and was gone after and has been running great since.
