79 F series ls swap
Been using this site for research off n on for a while now figured I would join.
Don't have alot of pics from disassembly but will try n keep updated with pics n status for others that may be interested.
A little history. Truck started off as nice truck with 460 n c6. Has Custom 60 gallon tank made from tool box. Truck was tore down a year ago and sat due to money.the plan was 5.3 with 4l60e then changed after making engine mounts to go 5.3 4l80e and Borg Warner S475 turbo. Engine was already assembled and sitting in truck. Engine was pulled out to get a few upgrades. Pulled pistons and recapped rings and reinstalled pulled cam to find worn cam bearings. Pistons were pulled again block n crank was sent to machine shop. Cam bearings installed block was vatted crank was polished. Short block was assembled alomg with new JFR turbo cam new oil pump and timing set. Heads were sent to machine shop cleaned up n checked out. Ls9 head gaskets and head studs were installed. Then it sat since August 2014
Plan has changed again. No longer going turbo or doing Dakota digital gauges. Bad thing is engine mounts were made with turbo setup n mind. Now I'm gonna have to worry about header on drivers side hitting gear box
Couple questions I have are
1.is there a throttle pedal assembly that will have firewall mounted cable? I've seen the modified version n it will work if need be.
2. Does anyone know sizes of fittings on evaporator? Need to start thinking about a/c install
