So I already have tow mirrors not the 08 ones. They are manual fold. With the manual fold you can fold in and fold out to a "click". The "click" holds the mirrors in place.
Recently the "click" broke and now the mirror will not stay in place while driving. The wind folds them in slightly now.
Is there a repair? Is this just a replace the mirror? A little assistance from someone with experience would greatly be appreciated.
They came on the truck, I assume they are OEM, I bought the truck in December this year. They are not the small mirrors they are large towning mirrors.
I just got some of these a few weeks ago before my 4000 miles journey. They were a huge help and the power fold is awesome. If it matches the options on your rig, get them. They have less expensive versions including the oem style beans you have and may be happy with...they have great customer service!!!!!
My solution would just be to superglue them open, but that's why my Excursion looks like it does and Mark and Michael's Excursions don't look like mine.
I have my old tow mirrors (like yours) sitting in my garage, I will take them apart and look to see what makes them lock tomorrow. If it's a plastic piece that is broken, you may be SOL. I'll let you know.
I'm always scared to break them if I try to move them. On a side note an Expedition kinda pulled into my lane the other day and our mirrors kissed..mine didn't budge at all, maybe they are already super glued...lol. I would imagine they have some kind of clicker gear on the inside and one or more of the "clicks" is broken.

That would be great, I appreciate your help. If the parts can be reused in yours please PM me I'll buy them. I'm not cheap I just don't want to buy new mirrors yet.
You can buy just the one side that you need from A1auto...I think its like 50.00 per side...Unless you want to spend 400 bucks on the 08 type ones. Nate is in Canada, not sure if it is easier to ship south or north...either way could be a headache..
