Hello, I have an 2010 F-250 Superduty with a gas engine. I'd like to upgrade the shocks. Mostly on road some off roads in the way of beach sand driving. Any recommendations?
All depends on your budget. Shocks will help but won't solve all the rough ride issues, I just ordered Dual-Rate coil springs and a rear Sulastic Shackle to add even more comfort on my truck.
Bilsteins 5100, 5160, 7100
Fox 2.0, 2.5
Ranchos 9000XL
When I recently replaced my shocks, I went with the Rancho 9000 XL's. They do have an adjustment **** that purportedly provides a 400% adjustment range over nine positions. However, those ***** are at the bottom of each shock under the truck. Since I don't get up and down on the ground very well these days, I set mine at "5" and left them. The ride when towing my camper is very good and quite acceptable when empty.
The main reason I purchased the Rancho's is the tube and shaft of the shock is significantly larger in diameter than any other brand of shock I looked at. In my mind this translates to a larger volume of oil inside the shock, more durability, and cooler operation.
Rancho also very often has sales with discount codes available at various dealers. My ultimate price for 4 shocks was around $260.00 delivered.
I was going to recommend the Monroe Commercial Vehicle Gas Magnum 60 shocks. I had some on an early 90's Ram 2500 Cummins I used to have and loved them. But after checking the catalog it looks like they don't make them for anything smaller than a class 5 truck now

That's probably because Monroe and Rancho are now the same company. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to compete against yourself, I suppose.

I tried to by rancho 9000's for my 2010 f-450 DRW CC, but none of the fitmint guides came back with a match for my truck....so assumption was rancho did not have one for my truck......in checking with the blistien fitmint guides what came back for my truck was the same blistien numbers that were applicable to my 2008 f-350 DRW CC LB. had to get it done so I bought front and rear blistiens.
as far as the ranchos go I think they are a nice shock but I do not agree that the adjustment gives anything over 100% stiffness......meaning.....max adjust is 100%....and as you wind them back the stiffness softens up.
I am just as happy with the rancho or blisteins...but I wish someone would make a dual shock kit for non lifted rigs.
So what often happens is that we do not get a specific vehicle in for fitment, so won't call it out as fitting, it will fit but since we didn't physically fit we won't call it out.
