65 caught my eye

I have a few 73-79 series trucks and get a lot of knowledge on this site. I was picking up a 74 for parts when I saw this 65. It does not run. Will manually turn over. Has duallys. floors need some work. Doors seem excellent. Hood has no rust but a couple of dents. rear of the cab has a few dents. Fenders look good. Its been sitting for a while. Question is what is it worth? More for parts I assume due to the dual wheels and no bed right? Any input is appreciated. It has a clean title.

Thanks

This F350 has a 1964 grille, so it's not a 1965. 1961/64 I-6: Intake/exhaust manifolds are on the left (drivers) side.

1965 and later I-6: Intake/exhaust manifolds are on the right (passenger) side.

1961/66 F350's have 6 lug wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle, the ONLY Ford trucks to use this pattern. Have leaf spring front suspension, no P/S was available, so they ride and steer like ox carts.

F350's thru 1979 with DRW (dual rear wheels) were only available as a Cab & Chassis, or with factory installed flat or stake beds.

IMO, this truck is a rough as a cob...PASS!

IMO, unless intend parting-out the cost of reconditioning may be more than finding 1 that will be less labor intensive or costly to put on the road. Having reconditioned a couple vintage vehicles I will not purchase one that is not running. Suggest inventory what items need to be repaired/replaced then browse a Ford parts catalog to estimate cost, this does not include the amount of labor.

I hate to see a classic vehicle end up in the bone yard; having said that, I have also taken a classic truck, one step removed from the bone yard, to reconditioned and found it too labor intensive, time consuming, and costly, my next classic will in good to decent condition where the PO has put their effort in to recondition. If looking for a vintage truck Craig's list, or ebay may be a viable source? I set it up to receive daily email and notices ebay posted a few Ford trucks over the past week that appear to be in good condition and at a reasonable price? Anyhow, had an urge to chime in and add my $.02

Those are the wide radius front fenders with the 45" opening. I'm guessing probably not the same as what is on your 2WD truck, but if you want the wider opening those are them.

I think someone ought to buy that sucker. It's not feasible to go all the way there and haul back for me. But my 65 is an Illinois truck and rougher than that one.......and I drive it now and then! It all depends on what you want from it. Show truck? That's a rough place to start. Driver? That thing is probably a couple days work from driving if the engine isn't a disaster. Tires don't look terrible. Cab doesn't look terrible, asides from the one crunch mark. Seat is good on the corner I can see. It wouldn't cost much to throw a flat bed together for that thing and have a simple town truck. And if he is going to crush it, he will take a couple hun for it so that he doesn't have to move it. That one ought to be saved!

the guy wants 700.00 for it. I need to load it on the trailer with a come a long. So it will take me some time. If it makes sense I will part it out. I just don't want to waste my time. I know about the value of 73-79 fords but not these. I don't have much time to decide.
