Air conditioning adaptors

I have a 1986 E150 300ci I retrofitted the A/C with R134. On the low side port I put the adaptor on leaving the Schrader valve in the old port. The adapter had one in in. Is it ok to leave the valve in the old port?

No. I did that the first time I converted a car and it leaked.
