spring gap?

Just had my new springs put on and I'm wondering if there's supposed to be a gap at the top of the spring and the metal bracket that holds it in?

It doesn't hold it in as much as it keeps it from falling out when you put it on a lift. It will retain it the way it is but if it bugs you just rotate the spring to the right until the gap is gone. You will have to put it on a lift or jack from the frame so the wheel is hanging free

need to bend bracket or put hose over spring, gaps in suspension components are not usually good

In this case it's not a big deal, all it does is keep the spring in place should the suspension flex to max droop. It serves no other purpose than that.
