I have a 1994 f150 5.0 302 and I just replaced the throttle position sensor but now I start it and it runs for about 3 seconds then the rpms go so low that it dies. I used a multimeter and tested everything here's my results:
The whole time the black lead was connected to the negative battery terminal...
This is with the tps still plugged in:
orange wire: .007 Volts
Black wire:.042 Volts
Green wire:.962 Volts
I then moved the throttle up while on the black wire and the voltage actually went down..
Testing the resistance with tps unplugged: black wire connector: 302 ohms then I moved the throttle and it went down to 301
I don't know if I did anything wrong but could someone please help me figure out if I have a bad tps or what. It is an advance auto brand part..
The sensor has some "slop" in the screw holes mounting it to the throttle body if I recall. You might try pulling the TB again and loosening it and turning the sensor the opposite way. There's also an adjuster screw on the TB to fine tune the idle speed.

Well I got the tps on and its finnaly running pretty good. Maybe still high when Its warming up but then comes down. I still think it's idling high. Where is this tuner screw?
