Hey guys, I'm looking at a sweet F100 for a sweet price. I've been looking through a lot of the posts on here and plan on lowering it, front and back to about 4-6 inches off the ground. I have had trouble finding before and after pictures for flipped rear ends, so what type of height off the ground will I have with the rear flipped? And what's the best choice for lowering the front to the same height? Here's the link to the ad. Hoping to check it out this week and pick it up!
I'm hoping to keep it a budget build, so prefer the cheap choices like cutting springs or cheap bracket relocations etc. I'm a welder so should be able to do some work myself.
I measured when I planned my build of a '57. While it would drop the rear about 5.5" (I believe that was the measurement was), you'd get interference with the frame and bed at suspension travel.
That said, if you grab the truck, you can always try a test fit. My front end has a drop axel installed. Don't know who's or how much, but the front bumper is about 5-6" off the ground.

What did you do to the rear? Flipped it? That seems to be the most cost effective solution, and a drop axle is fairly cheap, isn't it? $300-500 I think right?
Looks like a decent truck, hard to see the floors thru carpet though. That fuel tank should have a couple of straps on it. The front end looks original and I would guess it has quite a bit of wobble in it at speed. But if you are planning a new front end that isn't a problem. The original engine would have been a 223 with a three on the tree tranny, you can see where the clutch master cylinder used to hang next to the brake master cylinder. Sure would be a great starting point, body looks sound in the pics. Here in the North East, we start with what you folks would take to the crusher!

Thanks for the info! My end goal is to have a 351w in it but that'll be a year or two in the future. I do plan on lowering the front, and honestly I'm happier with the automatic. I love a manual but my ol lady can't drive a stick!
This is literally the only decent F100 I have even seen on craigslist, but I only search for $4000 or less.

I wasn't saying that I don't like the auto, it is my preference also. I was pointing it out to help you maybe get the price down. I was down in Nashville a couple of years ago to my daughters house and remember following a faded Blue 1960 right thru the taller bldgs. in downtown. Made me think they were all over! LOL!

I'm actually an hour north of Nashville in a much smaller, much more quiet town. There's some rust I can see around the headlights in the pictures. Is 3 a pretty fair price or is that a bit high?
