94 E250 - 4.9L - with code 212

Not long ago, I was doing about 60mph when all of a sudden my van just cut out on me. I coasted to the side of the road and quickly tried to restart the engine.... it restarted without any problem.

A few days later I decided to have a look in the computer to see if I could find any stored codes.... and I find code 212 = loss of ignition diagnostic monitor signal/Spout circuit grounded.

So I'm not sure what's going on. Truck is running and hasn't yet died on my again.

I'm a bit concerned that this might happen again so I'd like to track down the issue if possible.

Any ideas or advice would be welcome.

Joe

From what you describe, it's sounds like the Ignition Control Module (ICM).

Here's a Link to all sensors trouble-shooting, plus a good read on how to test.
