EGR delete problems

I just put an egr delete on my 2012 f-250 xl
I started my truck and the screen behinde the steering wheel had a lil wrench on it. I shut the truck off and turned it back on and it threw a cel and the wrench light.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong. Or do I need to take it somewhere. Thanks

Do you have a tuner? Did you tune it to tell the pcm to shut off the egr? What about the dpf?

You need to have a tuner...otherwise you get codes and associated issues...

You can't drive it. Put the EGR stuff back on. Then you can limp it in and have the codes cleared.

Or buy a scanner so you can clear the code yourself.

You really need to visit the 6.7 section and get some help with all this.

You need a tuner that will disable the EGR and one that will delete the DPF and SCR system.

that is what you will need to make it work properly without the emissions.

I don't know anything about this stuff. Can you recommend me a good tuner that has that preloaded for my truck?
I really appreciate all the help by the way

SCT X4 is the cheapest route. If it's a 2011-12, you have Spartan as an option. H&S are still able to be found. Better hurry though because the EPA is at it again for round number two!

What inspired you to remove the egr system? You said you don't know anything about this stuff so why did you look at the egr system and decide to remove iT?

I hope you get a handle on this engine, it's pretty good in stock form.

I'm just curious. Kind of strange to just remove a big chunk out of the engine compartment and see what happens when you try to run it.

Does the sct have the tune I need preloaded?

And I heard removing it increases power and fuel economy. But I didn't realize I had to have a tuner

Besides deleting the EGR, you will also have to delete the DPF or it will quickly clog. The tuner will stop all regens, so if it is still on, it will fill with soot. In fact, if deleting anything, it HAS to be the DPF. EGR is optional. (Since you already removed the EGR, this is moot.)
Give the tuner vendor a call and discuss what you want. Some come preloaded with delete (off-road) tunes. Others come with street legal "canned" tunes, and the custom delete tunes are emailed to you, that you would then download onto the programmer.

Putting the EGR back on and clearing the codes is what you should do.

Then tell us why you wanted to delete anyway.

what is your use, do you just do in city driving or whatever.

Scott, it sounds like he got some half accurate advice, but not enough to make an informed decision.

"And I heard removing it increases power and fuel economy. But I didn't realize I had to have a tuner"

I agree. Reinstalling the EGR is a great place to start. Then, gather good information to figure out what you want to do and how to do it properly.
