We have a 78 F250 4x4, as far as lights go this is what is working
1. Driver side headlight
2. Passenger side High beam only ( yes I know It just needs replacing).
3. Passenger side front side light.
4. Left turn signal indicator light is on, not flashing.
Some smartypants told me it was the fuse box so I spent half my day contorted under the dash to replace that.................not it. Grounds are not so great on tail lights. Could it be the turn signal indicator???? I don't dare brush my hair cuz I have pulled most of it out already, OIY VEY......help me.
I have had similar issues before with electrical and lighting gremlins. A bad ground (or lack of ground) can cause all kinds of crazy flickers and flashes.
I noticed that the ground clip is flimsy and is dual purpose to hold the trim on. Maybe I should get all new nuts and clips, they are rusty and even though I took sandpaper to them it did not help.
Thinking of changing where the brake light grounds are. Old ones are rusted and don't appear to be helping, any thoughts???? I really need to get this truck on the road!!!!
if turn signal is steady and not flashing, CHECK YOUR TURN SIGNAL BULBS!!! We had a vehicle that we spent hours of labor on trying to figure it out. We replaced the flaser twice, worked and played around with things for a long time. Had about given up on it but finally check the bulbs, and the front one was blown. It was a dual element bulb, so would still turn on, but the flasher side was burnt. A lot of hours of work for a simple fix.
