Manual Fuel Pump Help
Can I disconnect both my in and out fuel lines and run on my Electric
fuel pump from a gas can and not do any damage to my manual pump?
this in a 239 V8 flathead

Ron - You don't have to disconnect the manual pump. The electric one will fuel the carb thru the manual pump. I used to turn on the electric pump on my built 48 flattie until the carbs were primed (fuel would siphon back into the tank overnight) - turn it off and run the motor with the manual pump thru the electric. No problem -

Thanks Ken.I didnt explain what I was doing very well.I want to bypass the Manuel pump all together.Leave it on the engine and run gas thru the electric pump on a new line from a gas can.just to try starting the 239 . wondering if that would damage the manuel pump just sitting on the engine when its running Ron
