I have a ford add on remote keyless entry/alarm on the ol dog. Its always been on there but so I don't know much about it. I was down to one remote but now its broken the run out.
Does anybody have any idea for getting replacements??? I'm hoping to get a new pair and then I'm gonna fix the rear solenoids....help a brother out!!!

 

IIRC, the fobs were only available from the dealership, because they had to be programmed to the vehicle. This is one of those times where I have to say, "Start with the dealership parts department and go from there."

Are you trying to get the key FOB? And is it factory key less? My truck has the key less entry, but didnt come with the key fobs from the previous owner.

I went to Ford to get key fobs, but I think I may have shot myself in the foot on that. I think the contraption that makes the dinging noise in the truck when you have the door open ties back into my key less entry, and I removed it. Needless to say they couldnt get the key FOB to set to my truck.

If I remember you turn the key from off to run 8 times in like 10 seconds or less, and your door locks should cycle, and then you can hit a button (dont know if its a certain button or not) on the key fob, and the key less entry system will link to that key FOB.

Ford was going to charge me 50 bucks for it, but said that I could buy one from a parts store and program it to my truck.

 

Its a factory aftermarket add on. My remote only had two buttons.
It has an alarm system built in but I disconnected the noise maker part.

That would explain why mine didnt program. The dealer only tried cycling the key back and forth to try and get the module into programming mode.

 

Wow. The factory remotes for that era truck can be used. Programming is no biggie now with that though a bit different. I have done many when I worked at the dealership. Thanks much.going tomorrow to get a remote.

 

The Blue OX has them but I have to push the button 4 times to get them to work. I got some off eBay for the Mare but never could get them to work. I'll have to read that link.
