How many people here do martial arts?

I have been doing Hung Fa Yi and Yip Man Wing Chun kung fu for about three years now.

I had a room mate that did (bear with the spelling) Haikido.
Holy cow was that some brutal stuff. I never had any martial arts experience or wrestling experience and only won a match with him once without screaming uncle or tapping out like my life depended on it. He taught me some cool stuff though. I once saw him knock a friend out cold when he was got violent during a match that started off friendly. I thought he killed him, but he came to shortly after.

I've been doing JUDO since 17 years old ( with only an in terruption between 21 and 30 years old )...and I stop that Art at 55 years old because it's no more "ART" but well only strength demonstration.

This is why a lot of people do Wing Chun. It's not about "biggest, fastest, strongest". It's about understanding energetics and becoming sensitive enough to redirect incoming force.

Our best and most deadly practitioners are in their 40's and 50's. Men tend to figure out how to stop locking horns and fighting likes bulls at this age.

i have been doing judo since i was five, i took a lot of time off of the sport during the past 4 years to wrestle varsity at my high school. i hold 2 national championships, and several state championships from when i was younger, i am going to get back into the sport becuase it keeps you in shape mentally and physically.
