Need to replace my heater core in non ac equipped cab. Would like to add ac. If I remember correctly some have used 80-86 Ford f-series or possibly a late 80's or so Dodge set up. This was to have most everything in cab & a cleaner firewall. Can't seem to find any info. I could do vintage air or something like that but, where is the fun in that? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco:
TWO different types of dealer installed A/C were available: Deluxe (combined with the heater) and Economy (not combined with the heater).
Both of these are in-dash units. 1980 and later dealer installed A/C are also in-dash units, but will not work on 1973/79's, as the dash is completely different.
Upper pic: Deluxe dealer installed A/C (The bezel covered up the original glove box, so there was a "hang-on" glove box bolted to the bottom of the dash).
Thanks for the reply NumberDummy. I have a 74 cab with the economy dealer installed air. It is pretty rough as are most of the air conditioning parts. I may try that route. I still feel I read where someone doing a Cummins conversion pulled everything out & used a 80's style placing everything in the cab. This was mainly done to have clearance for the Cummins turbo. I can't find it now though -- too much internet reading. Lol Thanks again
