None of the 6000 RPM tachometers for gasoline engines, that I have seen, have an indicated yellow or red zone. Perhaps that is due to the fact that the same unit was used for six and eight cylinders.
It is expensive only relative to used prices on eBay or a junkyard. IF the Ford dealers still stocked them or if NOS units were listed at LMC or NPD that starting bid might start to seem like a bargain. That said, I just picked up a unit just like that (tach and trip odometer cluster) in really nice shape at my local yard for $28... mostly I was interested in the trip odometer lens, but turns out the trip speedometer head functions super smooth and I think I'm going to use it... it's really nice to see what a new original one should look like, now I will see if I can refurbish mine to a similar cosmetic standard. Is it just me or do the NOS instrument needles still seem a little faded? I thought they would have been darker red/orange... I still would like to see a NOS diesel tach for reproducing the yellow and red zone colors.
Only 6.9 trucks got a yellow, and red line, gas F350's and smaller got the same 6000 rpm unit. F600 and bigger trucks had multiple possibilities, but I have not seen one with 6.9 style markings.

I bought my tach cluster from a local yard for $40.00. It also had the trip meter.
