How can I temporarily disable the rear brakes?

I have to do a pretty substantial burnout this Saturday, of the brake-stand nature, and if like to not fry the rear brakes.

I'm thinking I'll just put a vise grips clamp on the rear rubber line, but that might compromise it later. (It's a new line so it's not brittle)

Any other ideas?

Use a screwdriver and back them way off. Just make sure you turn the adjuster the proper direction. Might not remove them completely, depends on how worn they are.

How about hooking up a "Line Lock" to the fronts. Like the Racers do to their fronts.

If you vise grip the rubber use a clothes pin or something first and then vise grip over that so the metal doesn't cut into the rubber at all. I'd probably do something like that because I am way too lazy to back the brakes off and then re-adjust - lol!

You could stuff something in the junction block too, but you would have to re-bleed it after cracking the feeder line.

They are pretty much new, which is why I want to save them. I might turn them all the way back. Not too hard to re adjust later.

.
Good idea about the clothes pin.

Yeah I don't want to do anything too severe cuz I'm thinking about drag racing afterwards and I would like to have all 4 brakes working for that haha

Use welder vice grips. They have a broader end that swivels.
2X on the video or it didn't happen....

How can I temporarily disable the rear brakes?

I'll try to get a video, but I'm gonna be busy roasting them. Hopefully someone will be there with me to get it on film.

You have to tell us why you "have to do a substantial burn out"

How can I temporarily disable the rear brakes?

We are attempting to set the new world record for largest simultaneous burnout. Current record stands at 103, with a 114 yet to be confirmed by Guinness. we are trying for 150.

I may do as freightrain suggested and turn the adjusters all the way back. Not hard to turn them back tight afterward.

I second the line-lock idea, after installing this not only can you participate in the burnout challenge you'll always be able to do awesome stationary burnouts anytime in the future any time you want.
