Trailer wiring

I've figured out the wiring harness issues on my '01 f250. The previous owner had scotch lock connected three other harnesses on to the factory harness. My question is do those connectors damage the original wires? I'd like to remove them

You will find the insulation on the wire is nicked where each connector is pinched closed. I broke down and bought a new final section of harness from the dealer to repair mine, after I found something similar. You can tape over the nicks instead, if you like.

Steve, did you get parts from E-Trailer and leave a review? There was a Steve that left a comment there with your same issue. Anyway, what was the part # and price if you recall? I'd like to replace mine.

No, I bought the last section of harness from my Ford dealership.
