Stepvan advice
I am looking for some input on the differences in the 7.3 from 1996-2000. I have a 2000 f350 and want to look at this stepvan https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/5137454757.html
It's a 1996 stepvan and I was leaning toward finding one with a 7.3 because I am more familiar with the engine. Wanted to see if there were any things I should keep an eye out for. I was considering taking an oil sample and a coolant sample to get tested before making an offer. Is that worth it/good idea?

Your 2000 is going to have all the "late" upgrades compared to the 96. See pdf attached below for details. Vans had no intercooler but compensated with a bigger non-wastegated turbo.
The fluid sampling is a great idea.
