My 2012 got a muffler delete, intake and tuner. My trucks computer tells me I use 18L per 100km rather than 19L per hundred km. A very tiny difference. I didn't mind the delete at first but eventually I put a muffler on it again as it was getting a little annoying. If you tow the truck will be above 4000rpm all the time and I would definitely keep a muffler on it.
I have the 6.2 with 4.30 gears. I have only 3000 miles on it and havent yet had it on the highway except for 6 - 8 miles but around town the best I have gotten was 11.5 and its usually in the 10's.
Here's my muffler delete. Bought two 3-inch 45's off eBay for $45 (shipped) and TIG'd them together and to the tail pipe using the existing hangar that was behind the oem muffler. Then slipped them on the resonator and band clamped them.
I'm an old fart and I can honestly say this is as good as any straight through muffler in regards of sound. NO drone.
Of course there's a pre-muff and resonator in front of the exhaust pipe
Dr.*** was it?, you are so right! Yesterday I deleted my muffler on 2016 F-250 Gas 6.2L 4 x 4.
I live in the San Fernando Valley in California "Stop Light Heaven"
I was only getting like 9.9 AVG MPG at 35 MPH and around 10 to 18 AVG on highway (different grades).
Yesterday spent $90 bucks, deleted muffler, all day yesterday and today around town 13.8 AVG MPG.
Haven't played on the highway yet, next Tuesday I will check it out,
Oh one other thing, it sounds nice! My neighbor has same truck but he paid for FlowMaster System, not only is his truck louder then a delete, he spent 4 times the money for the same AVG MPG that you and I are getting
Thank you for posting about MPG/Muffler Delete,
Greg
Haven't thought of taking my muffler off yet, have 2016 F250 6.2L 3:73 rear end have just broke the 1000 mile mark. Took it on a 300 mile trip was getting 15.7 , found around town tow haul got me avg 10 to 11 without max was 10.
Hey Mark224, I just broke 4,100 miles this morning. I found out from local Ford dealer can delete muffler only to keep warranty intact. Plus you want to keep the 2-resinators and 2-cats to give it that nice sound and keep it legal (California has strict smog laws)
First start up in the morning was a bit louder, but leveled off after warm up, about 2-min

Glad I'm not the only one getting that kind of mileage. I can't get past 10 mpg on highway either with the 4.30 gears. There are some guys on here bragging about better mileage with 4.30 gears. Ha ha.
