1.0 housing?

I am going to rebuild my 95 7.3 turbo and I am collecting information. What is a 1.0 housing, what is the difference from stock, and is it a good idea to change to? Also I was looking at the billet wheel with taller fins. Will this spool up quicker and can I directly install it, or does it have to be sent out to be balanced?

The housing on the stock turbo is 1.15. The 1.0 will definitely spool faster, but will raise EGT's. I love it on my stock truck. But anything over stock and it'll cause EGTs to be too high. It is a direct bolt on, it doesn't need balanced or anything.

My understanding was anything past stage 1 injectors was too much for the 1.0 housing?

You can get away with stageI's, 1.0 and a intercooler but if you do a lot of towing the turbo wil have a short miserable life
