Hi, I am having some issue tracking down a sound. It started about last year but it happens random and now it makes the sound frequently . It does not happen when I start the engine but after 10 minutes or so you can hear the "chirp." Does anyone know what this could be? Thank you very much for any responds.
Take your Serpentine belt off...then hand spin individual components that is driven by the belt..you may have to spin it with a long handled screw driver up to your ear or a automotive stethoscope ...betting its either the A/C, the alternator, or the tensioner bearing

Sounds like a tensioner to me. Not that it's the same, but I've had a Pontiac and a GMC that made that same sound when the tensioner pulley bearing was about ready to go.
